LGBT rights in Bolivia are some of the most progressive in South America. Both male and female sex are legal and the constitution bans discrimination on the basis of sexuality and gender identity. In 2016, the ‘Gender Identity Law’ was passed and is seems as the most progressive legislation for transgender people in the world.
The gay scene is based in the cultural centre near Avenida Montes with OpenMinded Club being seen as the best in the city.
